Monitoring solutions

Dust & Opacity Monitoring

Continuous dust and particulate monitoring for stacks and ducts – in-situ laser back-scatter, extractive forward-scatter for wet flue gas, and total particulate flow measurement.

Overview

Particulate matter is one of the most closely watched emissions from industrial stacks. GPIPL dust monitors measure dust concentration continuously and send the data to your DCS and CEMS data system.

The right principle for your stack

In-situ laser back-scatter monitors install from one side of the duct with no optical alignment and suit most dry stacks. Extractive forward-scatter monitors with heat-traced, isokinetic sampling are designed for low-temperature, high-humidity flue gas – for example after wet desulphurisation – and for ultra-low emission levels.

Built for continuous operation

Automatic zero and span checks, temperature compensation, air-curtain optics protection and automatic blowback keep readings reliable with minimum maintenance.

Frequently asked questions

Which dust monitor suits wet flue gas?

Extractive monitors with heated, isokinetic sampling are designed for low-temperature, high-humidity flue gas where in-situ monitors are affected by water droplets.

Does installation need optical alignment?

In-situ back-scatter monitors are single-ended, so they install from one side of the stack without alignment.

Can the dust monitor connect to our CEMS?

Yes, through analog 4–20 mA and RS485 / Modbus outputs.
